Discover Flight, LLC, exists specifically to preserve the dying era of grass roots aviation. Our founder was brought up flying in one of the country’s meccas of golden age pilot personalities, where flying wasn’t watered down, the airplanes were challenging, and the passion was alive. He specifically is on a mission to spread that as far as possible, and we are here to help make aviation great again.

Nathan has been deeply involved in this adventure by default as you may have assumed due to him being the “better” half. When Jamie first birthed the idea of Discover Flight, Nathan was the one being bombarded with his ideas, success, failures, tears, and nonetheless persisted through it all. Nathan’s education and past research in the marketing field make this partnership even more productive, and we’re thankful to have him. He takes care of our marketing research, public relations and communication, and event planning. In his spare time he enjoys traveling, rowing, and feeding Cooper too many treats.

Adam began flying when he was 16, but his aviation dreams started when he was 3 as he would go to his local airport to sit and watch airplanes. He climbed the certification ladder from Private, and eventually to Instructor certification and love every minute of the process. Jamie and Discover Flight, LLC even played a part in that process, and trust us, it was a long one filled with set backs and challenges; still, he persisted. Adam enjoys the opportunities he has to constantly perfect the art of flying, whether that is tailwheel flying on grass or instrument approaches in more complex aircraft. He currently flight instructs at Aerodynamic Aviation, located near San Francisco, CA, where he developed an understanding of what “stick and rudder” means, and tries to incorporate that into ever flying lesson he gives.

Ryan has been flying for nearly two decades and he’s passionate about flying light airplanes in remote places. After working at an office job for an energy company for five years, he decided that he was better at flying and pursued his goal to be a natural resource pilot. Ryan currently lives in Phoenix and flies for the Arizona Department of Game and Fish. He believes in learning aircraft control in all realms of flight, and that the only way we get better as pilots is to challenge ourselves and to do things that make us uncomfortable from time to time.

Daniel brings knowledge to us from a specific field that we don’t put much emphasis on: FAR 141 flight schools, and the air lines. Daniel has spent a lot of his flying career instructing foreign pilot applicants at a large, part 141 flight school, and then went on to become a CRJ First Officer for PSA Air Lines, a regional carrier for American Air Lines. We appreciate his perspective, and he is the go to guy for anything regulatory or technical.
